Who We Are

Chairman & Director
Graham Knight

Graham is the Head of Business Development at Strode College from where he comes into contact with businesses around the Mendip area on a daily basis. The college is a key provided across the area of all business related training and development with much of the work being out in the community. Each year the college works with over 600 business people and pumps around one million pounds of training subsidies into the local economy. The college is an active member of several chambers and Graham fully supports the Somerset Chamber too in its activities and is a keen advocate of the Into Somerset scheme which aims to attract new business into the county.

Chamber Manager
Moira Davidson
Tel: 01963 220942   Email: manager@macoc.co.uk

As the newly appointed Manager of MACOC, I am responsible for it's day to day adminstration and running.  My job is to help all of the individual chambers, as well as MACOC,  promote and organise events and, in turn, raise the profile of local business's and the various Chambers. It's my job to get MACOC and what it does noticed!  As well as lots of fun and informative events, Chambers of Commerce work very hard behind the scenes to lobby on behalf of local business and I need to make sure the message gets to everyone.

I also run a media and PR company- Blue Kite- organising advertising campaigns for local and national companies across various formats- Outdoor, radio, press and TV.  I am a large format print broker for banners, signage and hoardings.

Street Chamber
Emma Hubbuck

Emma is a local, independent HR Consultant providing support and advice to employers about practical employment solutions.

Born, brought up and working locally, Emma became involved in Street Chamber when she started her own business last year, because being at the heart of the local business community is important - she became Chairman in May 2009.

"I'm really pleased to be involved with MACOC and Street - our aim is to make Street a vibrant and dynamic place to do business in," Emma says, "the purpose of the Chamber is really doing the business of the town."

Frome Chamber
John Clare

Shepton Mallet Chamber
Ian Jarmaine

Ian was elected Vice Chairman of the Shepton Mallet in 2007 although he had been fulfilling the role for some months before that. Ian took over the role as Chairman at the beginning of March 2008.

He runs the The Swan public house in Town Street and is very involved with both the Shepton Mallet Business Against Crime group and Pub Watch.

His association with the town  started in the late 1950s as a child. He saw the town change significantly in the early 70s at the north end of the town following demolition of part of Town Street and Market Place, pedestrianisation of those areas and the building of The Amulet etc.

He says of the town, "With the various initiatives now available I firmly believe that the town can become a vibrant town again provided we all work together."
